The Lighthouse Map of Overthinkers is an important part of Bevoya.com. It visually shows people around the world who have struggled with stress, anxiety, or overthinking, and want to share their light to help others. Here’s what it looks like:
I’m creating these step-by-step directions for other people who may want to help me add lighthouses in the Google My Maps Lighthouse Map in the future. This is a true grassroots effort!
Bonus: You’ll also learn how Google My Maps works!
I add your email address to the “approved editors” list.
I pass along a new lighthouse that needs to be created.
(This gets emailed to me when people enter it into the form at bevoya.com/map).
You look up the place in the search bar.
Add a generic marker in that location.
You have to make sure to click “add to map” or it won’t be added, even if you see it right there.
Time to style your marker so that it looks like a lighthouse. Use the good ole paint bucket.
Make it yellow like the others.
Make it a lighthouse like the others.
Name your styled lighthouse.
Use the pencil. (For some reason, I imagine myself whispering that advice…uuusssse theee pencccillll…)
Name goes at top. Lighthouse name goes in description.
Time to add an image.
This part is fun. I randomly choose a lighthouse from that state or country. It’s cool to see the choices!
All done! WHOOO HOOO
